Harvest Market, a family-owned business founded by Tom Honer in May 1985, began as a single, traditional grocery store. Over the years, it has grown into three locations offering a distinctive mix of conventional, specialty, organic, domestic, international, and local products.
To build on the family legacy and expand the business's vision, Tom's daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Tim Bosma, joined in 2005. Their efforts have focused on community support and sustainable practices.

Mendocino Music Festival
Founded in 1986, the Mendocino Music Festival was the vision of Walter Green (1926–2007), a former principal bassoonist of the San Francisco Symphony, along with Allan Pollack and Susan Waterfall. This festival offers a captivating fusion of exceptional music performed by renowned artists, set against the backdrop of one of Northern California's most picturesque locations. Evening performances feature a diverse array of genres, including orchestral concerts, Big Band, chamber music, dance, blues, jazz, world, folk, bluegrass, and contemporary music. Daytime events include insightful lecture-recitals in the Piano Series, performances by Emerging Artists Program participants, and intimate concerts in historic venues across Mendocino and Fort Bragg.
From her garden studio and home nestled among the redwoods on Northern California's Mendocino Coast, pianist Susan Waterfall—Co-Founder and Associate Artistic Director of the Mendocino Music Festival—performs Claude Debussy's Arabesque No. 1.

In 1959, Bill and Jennie Zacha, with the support of friends, artists, and townspeople, founded the Mendocino Art Center. They purchased the property, where a mansion had once stood, with a $50 deposit. The remaining carriage house was transformed into the heart of the art center, while other outbuildings and animal sheds were converted into the first studios. Over the years, the Mendocino Art Center became the cornerstone of a vibrant art colony, helping to revitalize the once-forgotten town.
